7. Birthday Boy!

Saturday 3rd/ Sunday 4th October.

Well, it's Cap'n Lowy's 50th Birthday. how to celebrate? We're back at Yat Marina and there are a lot of friends here already, so there are plenty of people here to help us celebrate. unfortunately, there are a few friends (like Full Flight, Chinook and Divanty) and family (in the UK) who aren't here, so we'll miss them all.

So, actually, it's not that difficult. Domino's hotel has karaoke on a Saturday, so we arranged a party of folks (20-ish) to join us there. Karen organised a bus to collect us from the marina and bring us home. in between we had a meal and sang some songs. Everyone joined in, even the karaoke virgins, Trev and Lesley had a go. it was a fun evening, i haven't laughed so much for ages.

On Sunday, we invited a few mates round for drinks and nibbles. we cooked snacks and prepared nibbles, cleaned up, dressed the boat with signal flags and balloons and entertained 25 people on board. i think we had 25 (including us) on board at one time. thanks to Vanessa and John and Rob and Sarah for standing a turn in the bar to give us a break from filling the never-ending empty wine glasses.

The next day, Terry declared that 50 was not much different to 49, so was quite happy to proceed into his next decade.
